Jeux de la Francophonie are a combination artistic and sports
events held every four years since 1989, partly as a counterweight to
the Commonwealth
Games. They are open to athletes and artists of the 56 (Click

member nations. Attendance has so far varied between 6,500 and 15,000
athletes and artists
