The non for profit organisation "ART NOMAD" has diffused
the Tuareg craft industry of MALI and NIGER for several years to
assist the Sahel population and to promote the development
of their culture, their craft
industry and their traditions.
To this
end
ART NOMAD proposes a vast panoply of objects and jewels traditional and
contemporary Tuaregs to you.
Great is the know-how of the craftsmen (inaden)
blacksmiths who work with rudimentary files and tools the jewels with an
astonishing dexterity by holding them enclosed between their feet. Metal
more used is the money.
The jewels are controlés at the office of the
guarantee of metals in Marseilles and are punched.
The most used material is Silver, and inspected
by the bureau de la garantie des métaux in Marseilles
France
The majority of the objects out of leather, bags,
cases, purses, sandals and others are carried out by the women of the
blacksmiths. The unit often is very coloured and composed of geometrical
drawings where mix harmoniously the green, the yellow, the red and black.
